Knowledge Mining System (KMS) platform “captures” information thanks to a crawling system able to analyse the recurrences of a term or a concept. It divides the analysed texts in terms of significance and relevance. It identifies the connections and relations among concepts and topics. Then it archives all the categorised data for future consultation.
This methodology is based on technologies of automatic analysis of Natural Language and it entails two phases:
- The Semantic/Linguistic Analysis examines the key linguistic aspects of every single word (grammatical category, inflection and conjugation)
- The Statistical Analysis assigns to the elaborated and “conceptualized” documents predefined thematic categories that are customised through the association of topics and themes.
So the mere presence of a key word in text does not make it relevant. On the contrary it depends on its contextualization that allows to extract useful information in order to find the answers we are looking for.
